Dyson DC 11 Telescope Canister
From the Manufacturer
The Dyson DC11 is a piece of engineering wizardry designed by James Dyson, the inventor of cyclonic vacuums. A hit in Europe for years, Dyson vacuums are new to the American market. At the center of the machine’s innovation is the Cyclone air path design, an eight-section chamber that creates powerful, consistent suction. The conical chambers generate 100,000 g of centrifugal force, pushing dust and dirt out of the airflow into the vacuum’s .5-gallon collection cup. With no bag to clog, the vacuum’s 220 air watts of suction remain steady. The DC11s Clean air Turbine head is the first that uses an extra stream of clean air to increase suction power. The vacuum also features a rotating brushbar that can be turned on or off easily with the push of a button, for use on carpets and bare floors. Dysons DC11 Telescope vacuum solves the common storage and carrying problems associated with conventional canisters, which can be unwieldy to carry and stow because their wands and hoses do not pack away neatly. Ideal for urban apartment dwellers and homes with limited storage space, the vacuum easily compresses to only 11 by 13 by 16-1/2 inches for easy storage in the tiniest of closets or cabinets. Its the first canister vacuum cleaner with a fully telescopic wand and hose that wraps neatly around the body of the machine. The DC11 Telescope includes an adjustable wand with an ergonomic handle, and a removable Clean air Turbine head (patent pending) that locks in place at the back of the machine for storage. The DC11 also features a retractable 21.7-foot power cord that stores neatly away within the body of the machine with the press of a button. A Healthier, and Less-Expensive, Design With this vacuum, there are no extra costs, as it features lifetime filters that dont clog, including a lifetime HEPA filter for cleaner expelled air. It actually has the highest levels of filtration for cleaner expelled air, even retaining micros (more…)

High Cost, Low Return
This is quite possibly the most over-hyped brand of vacuum cleaners out there. I have had this model for a bit over two years.

Don’t even want one for free.
A DC11 was offered to me gratis, so I gave it a whirl. I’d hoped the carpet head would work better than my Miele’s, which is also air powered, but the Dyson just wouldn’t pick up…

BUY THIS VACUUM
Although this might seem pricey, it’s worth every cent. The first time it was used the canister was filled from one room.

Avoid this machine, its attraction is pure marketing
We have owned this vacuum for about a year and a half and are completely frustrated by it.
First of all, it DOES have a filter, and it is small and clogs quickly…

Poor excuse for a vacuum
The cannister is difficult to maneuver- wheels do not rotate. Very clumsy with heavy wand. Suction is poorly on any carpet surface - even low pile.

BULKY — better off with an upwright
I happen to own both the upright and canister vac. I purchased the latter item with the intent of using it for quick clean ups and for the stairs. UGH!
